Yesterday I arrived at the WRIU studio to do my radio show. The DJ who has the show before mine, known to the world as the Eggman, was playing this song. It’s a song that we’ve been hearing all of our lives on New Year’s Eve, and to be honest, it had pretty much lost its meaning for me at this point. But this version of Robert Burns’ venerable Scottish chestnut, performed beautifully by a Scottish singer, brought not only renewed appreciation for the song, but a tear to my eye as well. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, and I wish you and yours a very Happy New Year.

The audio is a bit rough, but that does nothing to detract from the poignancy of the performance.
