Maybe A-Rod should announce that he will count his home run total without the 156 HRs posted while he was using, and invite Major League Baseball and the press to join him. Rather than listing his current juiced-up HR stats with an asterisk, his total could be listed as “553(397)”.

Until the last paragraph, you sound like a few million New Yorkers trying to hang on to their devotion to the pinstripes in spite of yet another letdown or scandal, and then you end as the anti-Yankee. For whom does your heart beat true?

Never liked A-Rod. Period. I think he's handled this steroid debacle better than any of the other dopes who got caught, but I could give a shit if he ever recovers from the bad press. Moreover, screw the Yankees (spoken like a die hard Indians fan). A-Rod will get in the Hall of Fame, for sure, maybe not on the first ballot, but eventually, which is a shame because players just as good as him defensively but whose offensive numbers may not match A-Rod's, players who were good role models and important to the success of their teams and who were brilliant at what they did, those players are going to get shafted.

This whole mess is baseball's doing, though. If they'd had the cajones to instill a steroid/HGH policy a long time ago, we wouldn't be discussing this A-Rod b.s.

I've lost all interest in baseball. Not that I liked A-Rod before.

My problem isn't just with the steroid usage but also with the business side. It really annoys me that there isn't a salary cap.

I look at Alex Rodriguez and see the banking industry that got huge bonuses for nearly destroying their respective companies. Until the culture of “at all costs” reverses, his type will continue, and will reap the rewards of shortchange and shortcut.
