I TRIED to like Appaloosa, I really did (mainly because Ed Harris is a solid, reliable actor) – but alas, I can only rate it 6/10. Two main points – 1) despite the kudos of using actual period weaponry, I found the movie itsel to be a tad boring. I reckon you'd be much better off checking out the superb 'Quigley Down Under' (Selleck / Rickman) and 'Last Stand at Saber River' (Selleck / Carradine) – both of which are a much better movie. I'm not saying Appaloosa is bad, I just expected more. 2) Renee Zellwegger looked like a bloke !
