Oh, goddammit.

Hi, my name is Jeff, and I’m a Bee Gees fan. Not a “cool” one, either Á¢€” I’m not down with all that disco shit and I don’t care how retro-hip anybody says it is. Nope, my favorite Gibbs music comes from the ’80s and beyond. I think they made a series of surprisingly good albums between 1987-2001. Maybe we’ll do a late-period Bee Gees Idiot’s Guide at some point.

Anyway, the point is, I can’t fucking stand Barbra Streisand. There are a lot of popular artists whose music I don’t like listening to, but whose popularity I can at least understand on some level. Not Streisand. Not even a little. How in the world does this woman still have a recording career? Where’s the appeal? I have literally no comprehension. I think all her movies and music suck. Sometimes they suck in a sorta-kitschy way, so that maybe they’d be funny if you were really drunk, but mostly they just suck. I don’t understand why the first Guilty album was so huge, and I can only guess that either extreme grief or desperation for more enormous piles of cash drove Barry Gibb to make a sequel.

I’m not watching it Á¢€” not now, not ever Á¢€” but the video for the first single is here. The album is loss-leader priced at Amazon, which means you’ll be able to get it for $10 at Best Buy, which means it’s probably going to be a huge hit, just like those stupid Rod Stewart “American Songbook” albums I hate.

*sigh*
