Oh yes....

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

TRIUMPH UNITES FOR SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL!

The classic Triumph line-up (Rik Emmett/Mike Levine/Gil Moore) could not have selected a better way to reunite after a two-decade absence - with what will undoubtedly be a show-stopping appearance at the 2008 Sweden Rock Festival. Held over a four-day span (June 4-7), the Sweden Rock Festival has been an annual event since 1992, and over the past few years, has been held in Norje, outside of Sölvesborg.

This year's festival is featuring one of its strongest line-ups ever -
in addition to Triumph's highly anticipated appearance, such renowned groups as Judas Priest, Def Leppard, Blue Öyster Cult, and Whitesnake (among others) have also been confirmed.

"We have had Triumph in mind for many years and hoped that they would play together again one day . When we saw Triumph was inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall Of Fame, then read some statements from the members that "maybe one day we will do something together again," we jumped in with an immediate offer - and it looks like we're helping write some new history! A fantastic band with so many classic albums is just what Sweden Rock Festival
is all about. I am very proud to be able to present this band at this
years Sweden Rock Festival. I'm just one of many fans that are looking forward to this fantastic show." - Ingolf Persson, Sweden Rock Festival.

For more information, visit:

www.triumphmusic.com

www.rikemmett.com

www.swedenrock.com

It sure is easy to look back and think about how good we had it, but reading this makes me realize how thankful I am to be a somewhat well-adjusted content adult. Those adolescent days were rough. I feel like I should do step 8 and 9 (from AA) to cleanse my soul of the past.

My cool babysitter never listened to Triumph, which means, I was never exposed to their music... until recently. As a Metal spinning DungeonMaster, sometimes my players bring offerings. Recently presented with TRIUMPH's Thunder Seven, and then reading this killer post, Ive now added Allied Forces to my vinyl hunting list. Thanks Scott.

Man, reading this makes me long for WMMS, Home of the Buzzard.

Of course, for me, the defining point of how upscale Bob was is the fact that he had...COLECOVISION!! Real gaming there. Not that Intellivision with its "smart" games crap like I had.

Awesome. I remember staying up all hours of the night to see Triumph play the US Festival on Showtime. It was worth it. A few years back I got to meet Rik Emmit and warmed up for one of his solo shows. I've warmed up for him twice and he was a nice enough guy. The 2nd time I warmed up for him I saw his set list and ended my set with "Somebody's Out There" just playing acoustic. I heard later from the club owner he was pissed but never confirmed.

Love "Fight the Good Fight" and all their harder rockin tunes...but my favorite tune of Triumph's is "Suitcase Blues" which is a whole other story!

Thanks for the great post.

Your story brought me back to the day I first heard Triumph. They were included in a Maxell Rock Sampler Album. I remember thinking, "These guys really can rock!" It was a really great post about a really great song, thanks for the memories.
