There was a lot of hype surrounding that song because Peart is playing, like, four different drum parts at the same time. But the song doesn't really work. Still, I think that may have been some of the intention. Ever since the band stopped working with Terry Brown, their albums have become a bit colder. Perhaps that is symbolic with their embrace of technology, I don't know. But Rupert Hines can't be the sole blame. "Power Windows" and "Hold Your Fire" are also pretty slick.
