Suddenly it dawned on me. Artistic outcast from the wrong side of the tracks that falls for the upper-class kid trying to break away from the rich clique while sexually ambiguous (homosexual?) best friend suffers a broken heart? Save for the role reversals, The Brass Ring and King's Highway were the same movie!

I vividly recall searching my local Caldor after seeing Pretty In Pink and returning with Otis Redding's Greatest Hits which introduced me to one of my all time favorite tunes “I've Got Dreams to Remember”.
