I have a grudge against that Judas Priest song, because more than once I have tried to correct someone when they've said "you've got another thing coming," telling them the correct phrase is "you've got another *think* coming" -- and then they try to cite the Judas Priest title as evidence I'm wrong. However, as a former copy editor, I can guarantee that Judas Priest is not considered an acceptable style reference.

Man - I need "Memphis Thing" bad - I've been looking for that song forever. Saw Rob Jungklas perform at an outdoor free show when this album came out and he just did not fit the sound I had heard. I always thought that hurt him.

Third band on that tour was Culture Club, and I am still kicking myself for not making it to that show. HoJo is one of my favorite musicians ever; I saw his acoustic tour last year and it was fantastic. Despite the unpluggedness, t was as soundtrekkie reported below - standard arrangement.. I would really love to see him plugged in though!

I think I'd like the Jon and Vangelis stuff better without Jon. Sweet ambient electronic soundscapes, but Jon's goofy high pitched vocals ruin it. Sorta has a Moroder/Wendy Carlos vibe to it though.

The Priest track is definitely more popular than it's chart status leads on; then again, that type of metal wasn't popular with the squares back then. Those bands(Priest, Maiden, etc) could sell out arenas, but Casey Kasem wasn't exactly singing their praises on the countdown.

I am also unapologetic in my love for Journey.

I am also forever amazed by our similarity in musical taste. I'm pretty sure we're the same age and from the same hometown too. Weird, right?

Well, the Cellware ads are NOT helping, but that's not really your fault (I'm assuming).

Otherwise ... it's quite a nice upgrade. The only things I miss are the comments RSS, and the very rudimentary "scroll down to see if you missed it" nature of the old site. With multiple columns, I fear I may miss something new amidst the abundance of posting you and your team do. (Is there a way to flag "new" features with cookies or date stamps?)

Those minor, admittedly subjective quibbles aside ... I salute the evolution. (Salutes)

Mr. Jones does markedly different acoustic and electronic tours -- is that why? I saw him on his acoustic run last year (with guitarist Robin) and he was fantastic, but standard as far as arrangements go.

It's not just southern Idaho. That song was also all over MTV. I think this was one of those songs that was actually more popular than its chart position indicates. I wasn't a big Priest fan, but I do seem to remember some backlash against them. It's possible that some radio people may had steered clear of them.

That could be another Popdose spin-off column (with apologies to Meat Loaf): "Songs In The Rear View Mirror May Appear Smaller Than They Are".
