Dave Steed is all about music; 80's and metal to be exact. His iPod will shuffle from Culture Club to Slayer and he won't blink an eye. He's never heard Astral Weeks but thinks "Dazzey Duks" by Duice is the bomb. It's an odd little corner of the world he lives in.

Let’s not forget the added irony of Jeff Healey’s breakthrough album being called “See The Light”. Healey may have been an incredibly gifted guitarist and “Lost In Your Eyes” may have been written by Tom Petty, but nothing can save it from the shame of being originally recorded by Don Freakin’ Johnson!

(Looks down) Say, is that umbrage? Sure, I’ll take some!

“Lost in Your Eyes” suffers from canned production here. But the original Petty demo is terrific. Always wish he’d have released it himself, instead of passing it on (yeah, to Don J. eventually).

Ty Hernon’s claim to fame in the 90′s was that he was Garth Brooks’ lead guitarist.

  • NastyG

Actually, his other claim to fame was being arrested in 1995 in a Texas park for exposing himself to a male undercover cop and possessing meth. I remember it was one of the first scandals of it’s kind, but was soon swept under the carpet and it apparently didn’t affect his career at the time since he has more hits after that…

Ohhh, forgot about that one. Actually, forgot about him until I listened to the songs today.

    Tits Magee. Well done.

The highlight of this week’s entry? Learning that Ann and Nancy have a joint autobio on the horizon. “Black Coffee” gets my Song of the Week, as it makes me smile.

I love How Bad Do You Want It. One of my favorite songs Henley ever wrote.

Came out today – I’m hoping it will be in my possession within a day or two. I’m ready to start a new book and am holding out for this one.

Actually, that was Ty England, a Country 1-hit wonder who emerged during the same time frame.

Nick Heyward was the singer from Love Plus One group Haircut 100.

And “Kite” is a brilliant song.
