Ice Cube hit #56 with “We Be Clubbin’”

Another clear problem with the charts in the ‘90s is revealed with Natalie Imbruglia who hit #25 with “Wishing I Was There” after spending 11 weeks at #1 with “Torn.” Well, sort of at least as it was never released as a single.

    Miki Howard deserved so much more success than she got, and “Ain’t Nobody Like You” is living proof of that. The fact that her cover of “Until You Come Back to Me (That’s What I’m Gonna Do)” that charted the year before never even appeared on the Hot 100 is even more of a crime.

    Of course I must direct everyone to my blog for my post on my girl Icy Blu. She is definitely a hot topic there if you look at the comments. http://theisleoffailedpopstars.blogspot.ca/2007/12/icy-blu-icy-blu-1991.html#comment-form I’m waiting for her to write to clear things up! And to be fair, “Pump It” and other tracks on her album were meant to be responses to Tone Loc’s “Funky Cold Medina” and “Wild Thing”. Oh, and thanks for the shout out in Bubbling Under. ;)

    That wasn’t the end for Betty Wright’s career by any means. Saw her a few months ago and she still sounds great, and you check out “The Movie”, her album from last year
