It's not as exciting as you think. They did open-casting. I was probably too young anyway, and not nearly as quirky as Jason Schwartzman to make any sort of impression.

Not bad tunes! It’s hard to get over the “I can release and promote a record cus I’m rich” aspect of this but i do have to breathe in, calm down and remember not liking something just because it’s recorded by someone born with all the breaks is just snobbery.

I wonder if there are many others out there who are born into the business with the hard part out of the way (contacts, finances etc) who actually deserve it due to plain talent?

I auditioned for the part that went to Jason Schwartzman in Rushmore. They wanted unknowns and they ended up with a Coppola. True story.

Just think about it. If I'd gotten that part you guys wouldn't be saddled with me.
