I think the upside is that an album like this has the potential to introduce a new audience to the work of some of these great songwriters, much as “Step Inside This House” did for me back in '98.

Indeed this is a disappointment after the manificent return to peak form of “It's Not Big It's Large.” If it hadn't been for that CD I would have thought that surely Lyle had lost it for good as far as the writing goes. This is definitely a “holding pattern” effort. At least he still kicks ass like no one else when it comes to his unequalled live show…
