My dad succumbed to renal cell carcinoma over ten years ago. He made to his fifties, although he never saw any of his grandkids. His mother (my grandmother) didn't even live long enough to see any of her 7 kids graduate from college. Some varieties of cancer are more (immediately) terminal than others, but it's all cancer.

I don't believe anyone intentionally trivializes any form of cancer. I do believe people want to "make a difference" when possible.

I am all for basic medical research and access to adequate health insurance for all. I want to see my 2- and 5-yr. old boys grow up.

Maybe I could buy a LIVESTRONG bracelet?

This is not a male/female thing.

I don't care for this music, but I think it's unfair to state that “women's conditions” have been trivialized.
