One thing you should keep in mind, Pearl Jam gives sooo much money away to needy causes and charities, maybe it's not THEM that needs Target's money…let it simmer a bit

The only think I have enjoyed from Eddie Vedder in that last 10 years is that Hard Sun song from the soundtrack (into the wild) and I am Mine. The rest seems to be the same old over and over and over again.
And with each new album that comes out, everyone is always out saying its the return to form album for PJ etc etc…
It just seems that its the band that people want to like again but have a hard time trying to. I feel like its the same thing with DMB…

Evidently there's a special edition of Backspacer being issued exclusively to indie retailers, with the disc housed in a bound book. Looks like your boys want it both ways: indie cred and corporate comfort.

I say "your" because I was never a fan beyond "Black" or their set at the second Lollapalooza. I do have a chance to DL this record through PlayMPE, which I might do for the missus. If so, I'll listen with at least one ear.

The album's not bad at all, though I doubt it will win 'em any new fans. Better than anything else they've done in this decade, that's for sure!

I really don't get the whole Target thing, though…especially with this band, having taken such a valiant but ultimately losing stand against Ticketmaster. I understand these days bands need to make a buck any way they can – TV commercials, soundtracks, corporate tie-ins, it's all fair game nowadays. But does Pearl Jam really need the Target $$$ that badly? Same goes w/ any band at that level. They already have a large, dedicated fan base…it's a little depressing seeing those Target commercials on the tube…
