It sunk the previous album, and now it's dragging this one down with it. It doesn't repay the repeated listening at all – it's a Furry Romance, for god's sake!

And no, it's not too 'weird', or 'challenging', or 'complex'. It's just simplistic chord progressions; boring, over-repetitive riffs and themes; over-the-top guest vocalists; pretensions far beyond the slight narrative – it's “Jeff Wayne's War Of The Worlds”.
