I'm not a musician, so I don't know how to describe it, but the production sounds really nice and crisp - perhaps not as ethereal as the production on his previous stuff? Particularly the vocal. Maybe that's just the current state of compression and a whole other topic, but it grabbed my ear whereas previously he was an artist I kinda liked but didn't feel too strongly about.
