You could be right. It's kind of like when the Knack was hailed as the great white hope in 1979 because they sounded “real” compared to disco artists. (Musical authenticity is one argument for the backlash against disco, but homophobia and racism are another, of course.)

What a musical wasteland the 90's were. I always struggle with Nirvana's success, because I'm not sure how much was talent as opposed to just playing something different enough from the immediately forgetable stuff listed above.

I love C+C Chocolate Factory ! They made great, upbeat dance hits and that's all you can ask of artists like that. Same goes for Technotronic, Real McCoy, La Bouche, etc. Love them all.

But Gerardo can suck it, thank you very much. That song was awful even for a novely track and he gave a horridly sexist interview on Arsenio that made my tongue bleed.
