One of my summer jobs was at Record Town in Nashua,NH. Sold tons of Dino cassettes, Lots of NKOTB, Paula. Me and another guy used to break oopen cassettes and play them over the sysytem in the store. Herb Alpert and the TJ Brass blasting away...Or Hocus Pocus by Focus for laughs. Also met my wife here.

The New Jack Swing. Hmmmm I see lycra bike pants, and can also here the "Orchestra Hit" sample from every bad keyboard... Dun...Dun,,Dun Dun Dun Dun...The dun is the Orchestra hit. Play it in the keys, Do ya know what I'm talking about.

I still remember the summer not coming together and feeling right with this soundtrack to summer. Now 84...that was a great summer for tuneage

Good memories as I met my wife around this time.

I am also guilty of putting a lot of this crap out on the street that summer. There is a dance routine called "Take Off With Us" that involves scaffolding, pulling shades, stripping, shining lights, and yes...all done in front of producers who are gasping at the suggestive moves. Recommended viewing as it makes this look tame by comparison.

The “Cold Hearted” video is indeed Paula's shining moment in terms of videos…the idea however is completely borrowed from the 1979 film “All That Jazz” starring Roy Scheider. We had a giant steal your face painted on the cafeteria window with 'class of 89' under it. Jocks, band geeks, misfits of all shapes and sizes listened to the Dead during senior study hall.
But the Love & Rockets So Alive cassette single did see heavy rotation in the tape deck of my first car that summer too...

1989 was the year I graduated high school, and there was so much bad music on the charts that pretty much the whole senior class converted to Deadhead-ism.
