I’m getting more and more of these e-mails lately, and the majority aren’t all that interesting, but here’s something I thought I should pass along. Downliners Sekt (a band name which I’m surprised hasn’t spawned a lawsuit) has just released its first album, Statement of Purpose, for free on the Internets.

Yep. Free. Internets. High bitrates, too. They’re practically begging you to share it after you grab it, too. Why? They’re “bored as fuck with the music industry.”

Churlish, I know, and this type of moody instrumental electro-pop really isn’t my cup of tea, but it’s well-made. Worth checking out at the very least.
