Stephen Stills has been overlooked for some great music and this is definitely the pinnacle of his career. It also speaks to the wonderful chemistry of having Hillman, Samuels, Taylor, Harris, Perkins and Lala in an amazingly talented band. Just a personal opinion, but during this time period, he always seemed to be the preachiest while Crosby and Nash were content to be pop stars. Neil Young was, of course, Neil Young for better or worse. But Stills, in his sometimes overt and extremely flowery "rightness," seemed to appeal most to Der Flower Kinder.<br><br>That said, my two favorite CSN songs are "Just A Song Before I Go" (that's Crosby / Nash pop right there) and "Southern Cross," of which Stills has every right to be proud.
