It is a good track, but the overt spiritual aspect, I must admit, turns me off of it just a bit. His voice sounds great, chorus sounds great ... but perhaps I'd like it better were he indeed talking about Elvis. :-)

I confess that I am more moved by the REO Speedwagon track you covered, which touches upon a similar sentiment, if I remember correctly? And their play on the word fall worked nicely.

Interesting selection, though, and a very good post. I look forward to discovering more about Peterik.

Uh, disturbing thought, though, who's inspiring more Power Ballads here so far, God or the opposite sex? :-)

Rob,

I'm surprised this is sitting with no comments...positive or negative! I read this on Monday when it was originally posted, and since then, I've been revisiting "Crossroads Moment," which I had listened to once or twice, and then I moved on due to lack of interest. I've been a diehard Survivor fan through the years, and expected more from this album than I got when I listened to it.

Your article made me take a second look, and damn it, if I haven't been listening to it constantly since. I'm not sure what I missed on the first go around, but Peterik and Jamison have done good things with this one.

PS - I loved your story about Ever Since The World Began back when I first read it....such a great, feel good story.
