My daughter read the books and thought the film was a pretty faithful adaptation. However, I was surprised to see how empty the theater was on opening weekend. Unless this film does well on DVD, I'm not sure the sequels will see the light of day.

I thought this was a wonderful movie. It only encourages studios to make more movies like "Madagascar." Ugh.

This movie is absolutely better than its box office performance would suggest.
