I thought this was a wonderful movie. My daughter read the books and thought the film was a pretty faithful adaptation. However, I was surprised to see how empty the theater was on opening weekend. Unless this film does well on DVD, I'm not sure the sequels will see the light of day.

This movie is absolutely better than its box office performance would suggest. I hate seeing smart movies aimed at kids bite the dust like this. It only encourages studios to make more movies like "Madagascar." Ugh.
