Roxy Music is the most glaring omission from the rockhall. In acclaimedmusic/com they are the highest rated band not in the rockhall. They were never huge in the US — but they have four albums in the Rolling Stone Top 500 and are in the Rolling Stone's 100 Immortals. They were huge in the UK, Europe, Australia/NZ, and Japan. Their influence was immense; look at all the bands that formed after seeing them in concert. As U2 said during their induction – Roxy Music (and a few others) are in our rock hall — if that was not a wake up call to Jan Wenner (who does not get on with Ferry) I don't know what is. As Bono said, unlike many bands – Roxy acutally made something new. The Guardian also did an analysis showing them as the 2nd most influential Brit band after the Beatles. And they are not in the rock hall?

Roxy absolutely deserves to be in the Hall. There isn't a band like them, though there are hundreds of bands who stole from them wholesale.

I have this DVD, and positively geeked out the entire time I watched it. It features interviews from everyone I possibly could have asked for. I usually sell these puppies once I've reviewed them, but I'm keeping this one.

I think it's a crime that they are not, considering the wide sweep of their influence. Why have Bowie and the Stooges, but not Roxy Music?

But then again, I think Alex Chilton and Big Star should sneak their way in too…

I think it is outrageous that Roxy Music aren't in the R&R HoF and will probably never get in — because they were never commercially successful enough in the U.S. Many of the bands they influenced sold more records here than Roxy ever did. If there was a U.K. HoF, they'd definitely be in there.

I love the examples of people who were influenced by the group, Ken…it shows how wide their influence reached between punk and new wave. Yes, I think they should get in. And I absolutely think that musicians, and especially HoF musicians, should be allowed to vote for who gets in, and that they should make some sort of 3/5ths rule for the 'industry experts.'

I think you just helped me pick out an Xmas gift for my sister too, so thanks for that as well
