Full speeches ARE included in the bonus materiasl. Truncated speeches are only seen in the main programs in order to get to the MUSIC without having to endure hours of speeches. But, the speeches are there for fans who want to see them. Certain obvious artists are missing because of publishing and permission issues – not because the producers skipped them, all efforts were made to include the best material available. The producers chose NOT to make these chronological due to the inferior production value of the earlier ceremony shoots. 24 hours of content for $120 = $10 for every two hours of material. And yet, you still complain?

I agree that the full speeches should have been shown and not edited versions. Editing them takes away from their authenticity and the messages that the artists were trying to get across.

I'll definitely pick this set up as a Clevelander and music fan, but it's interesting to note that every review of this set spends time criticizing the way the material is organized, so you're not alone on that point.

It's also worth noting that this set was apparently nearly entirely organized/assembled by the NYC Rock Hall folks with Time-Life - the Cleveland Rock Hall folks had no involvement, and were a bit cranky about that point.

Also, you can save a few bucks by buying the DVD from the official Rock Hall online store - it's 108 bucks there.

One final comment: That's really embarrassing that this set got a 5 star review in Rolling Stone. I think that your average music fan is aware of how deeply Jann Wenner is involved with the Hall of Fame. Most of the damage to RS's credibility comes from Wenner, and once again, he just can't help himself.
