Actually, I reviewed the DVD. I have a Blu-ray copy on its way, but it hasn't arrived yet, and I didn't want to hold up the review any longer.

I don't plan on getting a Blu-Ray player any time soon, but Wizard Of Oz is one of those movies I've wanted to get to complete my “Most Important American Films” collection. Even though you reviewed the Blu-Ray, do you feel the new transfer is strong enough that it will stand up on the original DVD platform?

Netflix offered the movie up for streaming for 24 hours yesterday, so Jess and I watched it last night. I only own the 1999 DVD version, and was quite impressed with the improvement in quality. I'll probably wait until I buy a Blu-ray player, and then pick up the Blu-ray box; we enjoyed our viewing so much last night that we went back and watched the Angela Lansbury-hosted documentary, which is just phenomenal — I know I'll enjoy the rest of the bonus features.
