Well, the review reflected my disappointment of VCB perfectly. Just like seeing Todd Rundgren live a couple of months ago put me off wanting to follow his career (a sixty-year old Runt in fishnet pants, a g-string and flapping Bingo Wings, anyone?), this one made me seriously doubt if I need to see more Woody.

10% of the budget for the film comes from Barcelona city hall and Catalan regional taxpayers. The regional government also gave a grant of â‚¬15,000 to a soft porn producer for three “erotic films” as they would promote the Catalan language. I kinda wish I'd seen those instead… and I've seen every Woody Allen movie.

I'm a huge Woody Allen fan (saw him briefly in NYC playing the clarinet once) and have seen almost every film he's made — except this one. I thought your review was really well written (Damn you, Jeff!) but it's also made me reticent about seeing the film. However, since it's on DVD now, I'm willing to take the chance that I won't like it since I can probably rent it on iTunes or On Demand.
