One of the more interesting intersections Palin makes between religion and politics in this vid is her call to all Alaskans to “Get right with God” so the money will flow with good business deals. Is that why the lower 48 & Hawai'i are in an economic recession? You know, we're not “right” with God? If so, then my wish is that Palin gets up on the stage tonight and touts that as her economic plan.

You noticed that too, huh? As the undisputed voice of cynicism, I know there were plenty of dud speeches during the DNC, but there was always an effort to draw back to issues and positions that meant something to Obama.

Last night we learned that McCain was beaten worse than a fur trapper in a PETA rally but he still believes there's no greater goal in America than to go to war and maintain that war. That is the unintended consequence of last's night's psychological waterboarding. What else can McCain offer us? Did anyone say? Did anyone bother to ask? No.

And tonight we get a master class in fear mongering from Captain Nine Eleven himself. I'll eat light so it comes back out with minimal distress.

That Pavlovian response is one of the reasons why I would like to see the anti-war protesters clothe themselves heavily in red, white, and blue. The optics of riot police herding and intimidating crowds that are draped in the American flag would be enough to cause a lot of confusion for those tuning in to get their daily dose of hippie whomping.

I've read that Levi is on his way to MSP, and I'm fascinated by the idea that he'll think it's little more than a school trip, sneak out of his hotel, and get recognized in a bar or strip club or something suitably tawdry.
