I watch monk religiously, although I am not very caught up, I have 6-7 sitting on TiVo.

There was a scene in an episode of Monk a little while back where they visited the home base for a bunch of hot dog vendor carts – and the very first thing I thought of was “Confederacy of Dunces.”

I watch this movie about this time every year to help me get through the long new england winter on through motorcycle riding season. I turn it off about the point where the boys take Toni Basil to the cemetery.

New Orleans is a phenomenal place; it always shall be. Your story about the cops (and how dangerous your actions were) reminds me of some of the scenes from Confederacy of Dunces. Or some Dave Robicheaux (James Lee Burke) crime novels. Lucky, indeed.
