I own both Better Off Dead and One Crazy Summer, and I'd definitely recommend OCS to all Better Off Dead fans. It's a fun film, although nowhere near as good as Better Off Dead. You're correct about Goldthwait/Godzilla. As a bonus, the DVD of OCS has a commentary track with Savage Steve Holland, Goldthwait, and others that really does a nice job of shedding light on the film (and bits and pieces of Better Off Dead as well, as I recall).
