Of course, the "religious" aspect (which, let's face it, comes to dominate for about a third of the film) is utterly ignored in the trailers -- it's been treated almost like "The Crying Game" in that respect. But it's rare when a comedy like this -- and one that's not exactly a classic -- sends you out into the night thinking about the very nature of humanity and why societies make the choices they do. To me, the best thing about this film — practically the only good thing, once the hilarious shock of the brutal, deadpan honesty wears off — is its subversiveness. Of course, the “religious” aspect (which, let's face it, comes to dominate for about a third of the film) is utterly ignored in the trailers — it's been treated almost like “The Crying Game” in that respect.
