I'll go one step further and say that I think the reworked ending is BETTER than the original.
I liked this movie far more than I did The Dark Knight. It was meta, dark, nihilistic, hopeful, smart and well told.
I'll be seeing it again.

Agreed. The altered ending wasn't unpleasant, and the rest of it was a great interpretation from page to film. A little more titty than I remembered, but maybe I had the expurgated version of the novel.

Visually, this movie is simply incredible. For that alone, it's worth a watch. I have lofty expectations being a long fan of the comic book series and I'm happy to say that Zack Snyder's film adaptation didn't disappoint me.
