Actually, the Priest album is pretty good. They aren't going to make “Screaming for Vengance” again, this sounds like a band that has grown up. The music is fantastic, the lyrics, well. . . it IS Judas Priest.
The concept is cool though, and I do like that they don't give a damn about album sales anymore, just doing what they want.
And you have to admit, it is nice to hear a guitar solo in the middle of a “Metal” song. (Are you listening Metalicaa?)

I've heard the Priest album. I actually had high hopes for it, but it stinks. It's way too orchestral for a Priest album. I definitely give them credit for going for it, but someone should have been in the right mind to whittle this down to one disc when the train started rolling off the tracks

If you have to tell the audience “it's a joke” after you've told the joke, you haven't really done much. Katy Perry is in the rare position of telling critics “it's a joke” and they think she's quirky. She doesn't tell her target audience, possibly too dense to get it, and they think she's alright with them. And as much as these songs suck to me, the charts love her so, maybe, I don't get it.

Looking forward to the POB writeup. It's easily the best Beach Boys-related product of the '70s aside from Sunflower.

I'm morbidly curious about the Chicago record, and word on the street is that the Priest album is a steaming turd.

I sampled the new Coldplay last week. While it will do nothing to silence the haters, it's not that bad. It's not that great, either, but there are a crapload of acts out there more deserving of the venom Coldplay receives.

Nice to see “Stone of Sisyphus” being released after all these years. I like when lost albums are found.

So you've heard Hucknall's album? My dad reminded me this morning that Hucknall wrote a few Simply Red songs in the '80s with Lamont Dozier, but he also informed me that Dozier wrote “Two Hearts” with Phil Collins. I didn't know that before now, but it makes sense. Didn't Dozier also write a song or two with Debbie Gibson?
