  • No "Waltzing Matilda" by the Pogues?

Actually, I made a concerted effort to only include artists or groups that were from the U.S. since Memorial Day is a U.S. holiday. Although The Band was mostly Canadians, Levon Helm is from Arkansas and he claims "Dixie" was inspired by stories he shared with Robbie Robertson (even though Robertson received sole writing credit). I'm not sure what Billy Bragg's contributions were to the song with Wilco song (an outtake from the Woddy Guthrie "Mermaid Avenue" sessions), but his presence feels minimal.
  • Does everybody see the same banner ad at the top of Popdose??? Anyway, it must be working. I just bought The Weepies -- Hideaway. Ummm, nevermind that I sampled most of it from music blogs first. Nah, that didn't have anything to do with it. :)

BTW, Springsteen should be happy. Petraeus just announced further troop withdrawls because of violence dropping to a four year low. We should all be happy about that.
  • you've seeded my bbq mix - fine work
  • I loved Marvin
