I re-discovered Jody Watley sometime in 2005—I picked up 'Midnight Lounge' on a whim, and fell so in love with it that I delved into her discography. I purchased everything from 'Intimacy' right on up to 'Saturday Night Experience' and snapped up 'The Makeover' once it was released. I can't wait for her upcoming full-length 'Chameleon'

Jody is badass. I've been a huge fan since the Shalamar days and was fortunate enough to catch her live and up close performing at a record store a couple years back when “The Makeover” came out. A lot of the credit that Madonna and Janet receive for embracing gay and club culture actually started with Jody. There were people voguing in the “Friends” video a year before Madonna's “Vogue” came out.

I generally don't buy music digitally, but I had to make an exception when “Flower” became available on iTunes last year. Now if I could just find the time to listen to it…
