To the author of this, Jack Feerick, either you're trying to get a rise out of people, being the writer and all I can understand maybe that is your whole intention. Whether people comment on your article good or bad, you will feel a sense as in you wrote a good article only because you got a rise out of people enough to make them comment. But seriously, if you have any musical taste in what good music is or what makes a good singer songwriter, you have got to be an idiot in musical taste talking that much trash about Rob Thomas. Rob Thomas is the only one of his kind. I dare you to say he has an equal of his generation and time. No male singer has talent like him in his music category. If you can't feel his music, you don't know what good music is. Oh, and his cover of David Bowies “Lets Dance” is the best I've ever heard an artist and guitarist do. You probably have bad taste in everything you do, wear, eat, buy, women, cars, wardrobe, style, your whole pathetic life. You're a KOOK, GO HOME!!! Recognize musical talent when you see it nerd/dork/geek/wuss. You are a no musical taste recognizer chode. Bet you give good write ups to all the dumb, young, no talent pop singers. Heard Paris has a new one coming out. Better start to get writing on that one. Go home you malnurished, tasteless, musical expert KOOK.

I don't own any of his stuff, but once I found out that “3 AM” is written about his mom, who survived cancer to move on to incessant partying at a detriment to her compromised health, I decided he deserved a kinda-pass. From ridicule, not for fandom. I mean, that's a real-life pop song. It's pretty unusual. He could repackage it as a country song and it'd probably hit again. Anyway, I don't really care for 99% of the Matchbox 20 catalog. Or his solo stuff, whatever that is. Is he still married to that ridiculously smoking hot woman?

I like him. I like his writing, I like his voice. I think “Little Wonders” is a terrific and (gasp) poignant charmer. I think he knows his way around a hook, and he knows how to sell it.

I also like pudding pops, Doritos and McDonalds. None of those are good for me either, but what the hell.

No joke, I had people write and tell me I'm going to hell (well, they said I'm “in the back seat”) because I dared to trash Stapp's solo album for, well, sucking. Funny how they can judge me but I can't judge Stapp. I'm confused.
