Thanks, Beelzebub! I always aim to please, but I wasn't so sure that I would actually please anyone with this series. I'm glad you feel that way now but remember, we still have a long way to go.

This is truly incredible, Terje. I thought I knew more about David Foster's career than anyone needed to, but you have exposed me as a rank amateur. You may have made a deal with the devil, but we're all far richer for it.

Oh, they had their soft moments. The wonderful "Come And Hold Me" from their self-titled debut in 1970 is dreamy pop music. But overall I think it's safe to say they rocked harder than most female acts in the early 1970s. Lots of throaty vocals and hefty blues riffs. Definitely harder than Carole King and Carly Simon, anyway.

I like the Nickey Barclay song. So Fanny was hard-rocking? As I told you, all I know by them is the Todd Rundgren-produced "All Mine," which is pretty soft.

Ah, good times ahead -- apart from a detour every now and then I'll probably do this chronologically. I agree with you - my favorite Foster period is coming up now -- ca. 1977 to 1986. I expect my descent into madness to start around 1992.

i can't wait to see where you go with this. in spite of the dreck he's had his hand in for the last 10 years or so, 80's foster (alice cooper, the tubes, chicago, john parr, the almighty bill champlin, etc.) is some of my favorite work.
