The Robert Plant / Alison Krauss Raising Sand album was released a little late for this year's Grammy's, though the single 'Gone, Gone, Gone' was released prior to the October 1 deadline and is nominated for the best duo something something award.

I disagree with your assessment of “Across the Universe.” I loved the uniqueness of the arrangements and how the songs were used to propel the plot. Visually, I think it was unbelievably stunning. As I stated in my blog a few days ago, when I compared to “Across…” to the atrocity known as “SPLHCB,” perhaps the Beatles references go over the top. (She came in throught the bathroom window? C'mon.) But you really can't beat Joe Cocker singing “Come Together” and the gospel version of “Let It Be.”

I'm rooting for Once… well, as much as I can ever root for the Grammys.

I think that the version of Let it Be from Across the Universe is stunning. But what a weird trip that movie was… and it draaaaaaged.
