I have explored them, as you'll see if you click on the links for “more information” at the bottom of the review. And although “Car Button Cloth” is my favorite, partly for sentimental reasons, I do think “Ray” is the band's best album. As far as the albums that came before it, I'd say “Lick” is the strongest and most consistent, which is ironic since it was put together in a piecemeal fashion.

I'm glad Rhino Records is re-issuing this album and recognizing it has a certain classic value from the early-9O's. However calling it The Lemonheads “best album” is a rather bold statement. If you're into power-pop then you'd like this album a lot more then the band's noisier 198O's indie rock stuff . As a teenager at that time “It's a shame about Ray” sounded really weak next to previous albums like “Lovely” and “Hate Your Friends”. It's worth exploring all the different incarnations of The Lemonheads.

No, really, I figured as such. There's a swooshing sound (for lack of a better word) about 3/4 into the note that I figured was there to disguise an edit. Sometimes I can hold the note that long – yeah, I'm one of those steering-wheel-pounding geeks you see singing along while driving – but not always. It's a toughie.

Well, wasn't there a comeback in 2003? Oh yeah, “Baby I'm Bored” barely made a peep in the U.S., but it was a good album. And 2006's self-titled Lemonheads album was good and solid, though not as immediate as their previous albums in terms of hooks and melodies.

But yes, let's keep supporting him. He's still great at what he does. Supposedly a new Lemonheads album is coming out this year. As for Courtney Love, I don't envy their drug intake in the '90s, but both of them give great interviews. Usually when an interview is advertised as “candid,” it's not, but Love and Dando don't edit themselves at all. It's edge-of-your-seat Q&A with them.

Just a great, great album. Give me this, the Jayhawks' “Hollywood Town Hall,” the Replacements' “All Shook Down” and Jellyfish's “Spilt Milk,” and I have the best 18 months of music of my life.
