If you like well crafted movies with likable characters, you'll like it. That it's about finding your musical voice puts the icing on the cake for me. It was absolutely heart-wrenching in a lot of ways, good and bad. It's definitely more about the characters than it is about the plot, so if you're okay with films that are more character study-esque, then I see no reason not to like it. I really loved it. This movie is so good, and so few people I know saw it in the theaters, that I bought 10 copies of the DVD and distributed them over the holidays. If you're not into the indie-understated thing, don't bother. It's not a big loud boisterous movie - big use of natural awkwardness. No wrist slitting, although I'm not sure I agree with some of the plot decisions made... But I'm pretty resistant to liking things that everyone else loves, so you can take my positivity about it seriously. I watched it – it was a very good movie, actually.
