Mind you, I love the soundtrack, so we're talking a three and a half star review for the movie and a four and a half star review for the music. It's not that I disliked the movie; I just liked the music better.

Certainly it's not for everyone but I really enjoyed it. If you like well crafted movies with likable characters, you'll like it. That it's about finding your musical voice puts the icing on the cake for me.

I really loved it. It was absolutely heart-wrenching in a lot of ways, good and bad. It's definitely more about the characters than it is about the plot, so if you're okay with films that are more character study-esque, then I see no reason not to like it.

Personally, I like the soundtrack more than the movie. The scenes that featured “Lies” and “When Your Mind's Made Up,” though, were amazing.

If you are a fan of indies and/or love stories without Hollywood endings, then by all means see it. This movie is so good, and so few people I know saw it in the theaters, that I bought 10 copies of the DVD and distributed them over the holidays. I continue to believe that Once was the best movie of 2007.
