The Shout Out Louds – Howl Howl Gaff Gaff (2005)
purchase this album

I know, I know, I’m way behind the times on this; it was originally issued overseas in 2003, and Capitol brought it Stateside in May. And it isn’t a super-spectacular award-winning monster of an album, either — it’s really just a nice, moderately lo-fi collection of sunny ’60s pop with a modern garage-rock spin. But after sitting in my on-deck circle for close to forever, Howl Howl Gaff Gaff finally made its way into my Winamp’s Now Playing list this morning, and hearing it made me happy, so I’m passing these along to you.

There isn’t any shouting and it isn’t very loud, but I think you might enjoy “The Comeback” (download) (wherein the band specifically ignores LL Cool J’s instructions), “Go Sadness” (download) (a lovely ballad), and “Happy Up Let’s Go” (download) (handclaps!)
