your opening two paragraphs REALLY amused me. i had exactly the same experience: dozens of emails and an unsolicited cd (sent to the UK airmail from the US so these guys are really keen) and then a slightly disorientating sense of surprise. it's a fair bit better than ok – just never great, isn't it? and now i feel slightly obliged to write about it…

He reminds me of Ben Folds at times with a little Josh Rouse at times. Just not as good.
