I've had "Desiree" bouncing around my head all day--and I didn't even bother to fire up the MP3, I know it so well. It was actually one of my favorite songs that winter of '78, though it was kinda lost amidst all the Bee Gees-related stuff dominating the charts.

That "girl almost twice my age" bit was...how to say it...stirring for my 12-year-old psyche (amongst other parts). I remember thinking about that song a lot later in the year, after 8th grade started and I was confronted with an unbelievably hot, young Earth Science teacher. Sad to say, this reminiscence is NOT heading into Penthouse Forum territory...but a barely adolescent boy could dream, couldn't he?

Thanks a lot, big guy.
