Leave it to the brilliance of Animal Collective to show how the driving, directional, joyful rhythms of the first part can in an instant (without really changing) turn into vast space and insanity -- as if to remind us that the void and terror underline everything. It is a simultaneously bright and dark song. Incredibly beautiful. Sorry, but the middle section is my favorite part of the song.
