Australian veteran rockers Midnight Oil announced in mid-2016 intentions to get the wheels back on the band. The announcement came in tandem with the release of frontman Peter Garrett’s solo record, A Version Of Now.

The promise is about to be realized. On February 16 by web video announcement, the group confirmed the tour, titled The Great Circle, is a go. It comes in connection with a wide-spanning career retrospective boxed set. An itinerary for the tour has been posted on the band’s website (link below).

The tour is considered a surprising turn of events as, prior to Garrett’s return to music, he served as a federal government minister for Australia. During his political terms he publically doubted an Oils reunion was possible, according to a report published on The Australian website. The tour begins six months on the road in April, covering North and South America and Europe. It concludes in home territories Australia and New Zealand in October and November.

More information is available at the Midnight Oil website.
