I wished I could have seen the LA show recently...oh well.
Carry On!!
Chris Knab

As the co -founder and Vice President of 415 during its short-lived glory days it is great to see all your enthusiasm for our bands. Davis and they didn't have an opener, but they did have a pretty off night. Feedback, mics not working properly, the mix was off and the like. I can't say that I really ever listened to Wire Train, but Translator also had some solid songs.

Hard to believe Mutants are still around, but they are kind of like a cross between the B-52s and Beach Blanket Babylon, so it's not hard to see why people book them 'cause they're a good party band.

I saw Big Country in '84 at U.C. And I'm sure even 415 label mates haven't thought about New Math since, well, the mid- '80s.

No, you're right. “Heart of Stone” was from an SVT EP — and was a featured singled. I've had a soft spot for their debut "...In a Chamber" ever since. Although their later LPs failed to live up to that album, I did wind up investigating other 415 artists like Translator as a result. I guess the label did hold a certain cachet with me. I was always puzzled why at least one of the acts from their roster never had any more than limited success.

The first band I ever saw live was 415's own Wire Train (when they opened for Big Country at S.F.'s Warfield in '83).
