I've never heard the Pearl Jam version, and I suspect if I did, I would be disappointed. And I must be a hard-hearted person because while I found Dead Man Walking a powerful film, I wasn't brought to tears.

This version of “The Long Road” (Pearl Jam has one, too) is one of the finest recordings from the 90's. During the film, when this song is played, I can't watch without crying my eyes out.
