Geffen was disappointed that they weren't getting any "rock n' roll" from Neil, so he basically gave them some "rock n' roll" in the purest sense of the term. His last one for Geffen, Life, was actually a pretty solid Crazy Horse record. It definitely sounds like the '80s, but you can't mistake the Horse no matter what you do to the tapes. "Prisoners of Rock n' Roll" summed up the experience brilliantly: "we never listen to the record company man / they try to change us and ruin our band." I love Neil!
