The music itself almost always kicks ass, the lyrics can be equal parts sublime and ridiculous, but, I dunno, it's like he's got an "authenticity" problem or something.<br><br>And sometimes this bothers me w/ bands (in addition to Spencer's, POTUSA, Mojo Nixon). But not with others (the aforementioned Rev. Horton Heat). Why is that? What is it about Spencer that makes us automatically want to question his motives? He still rocks, though... It continues to baffle me why Spencer gets hit w/ the complaints no matter what project he's in (and believe me, I have the same complaints).
