I love Kate, and this album was a very strong follow up to Hounds of Love. "Love and Anger" is one of my favs and even "Deeper Understanding" has many things that I'm quite fond of. However, her last album had me wondering if my love affair with Kate was confined to the mid to late '80s.

Never For Ever has always been my personal favorite, with Hounds on its heels. I've always liked The Sensual World but should probably listen to it a little more. Thanks for this!

I came here to say what Johnny Bacardi did, and it's nice to see someone beat me to it.

I always thought The Dreaming was her "watershed moment", but otherwise I agree with everything else you say...

We've never had a Kate Bush guide, but for all the fun we've had at her expense over the years, she certainly deserves one. If you want to write it up, we'll run it!

Thanks for this. Nice to see an entry on Kate. (Speaking of Kate- Has anyone from Popdose done an idiot's guide on her? If not, I might be up for the challenge.) This has inspired me to give the Sensual World another listen. I've been into Kate for about 12 years, and even though "This Woman's Work" is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, I'm not as enthusiastic about this album from a production standpoint as I am The Dreaming and Hounds of Love. That being said, It's been several years since I've given The Sensual World a serious listen, and it's loved by fans and critics alike (many say it's her best), so I'm going to give it another spin.
