Ritche's decision turned a corner and he felt he couldn't wait for tomorrow. At that split second all his fractured-ness and anguish surged and met with every suddenly excruciating memory of Margot and his longing for her and so he just did it right then. I found the way this scene was filmed to make perfect sense and feel very real. Sometimes we don't behave logically---especially if we are in a suicidal frame of mind. I always took the moment when he says “I'm going to kill myself tomorrow.” and then does it at that moment instead to be as thus: just like any time you have decided upon an action and at one moment think you'll put it off for later and then all of the sudden change your mind and decide it has to be done right away—that's all that was.
